2022 in numbers

Yes dear friends, it is the day of the year I tell you about my shaves the past 365 days.
Disappointment for some of you (maybe) but: I did not keep a list. First time since I started keeping them in 2015.
There hasn't been a year the past few decades I shaved so few times as this year, and basically it boiled down to:
repaired formerly broken vintage Merkur 37
Voskhod
Simpson synthetic or Graydog/Japanese Sugi Pine/2BED synthetic
ToBS Lavender creme
In total there were somewhat over 50 under 60 shaves.

Yes, before I go to my weekly family dinner at my parents' house.

I work from home. So, during the week, I just use fine creams and serums to keep my skin in its best shape.
Creams and serums, combined with low-pressure shaving, are the secrets to great shaves and skin longevity.

BTW, I am loading up on Bakelite razors. I'm taking your advice on this.European razors are great shavers, Bakelite or not.

I got the knockout, Golf, Fasan, Neo-Gam, Trumpf, Rogerit, and Romi.

Non-bakelite/semi-bakelite: Neo-lux geen, Sonnal, Legion extranjera, Heinrich Gunand, Mulcuto (bakelite baseplate), Myatt junior (bakelite baseplate), Ben-hur, Sonnal, Rotbart, The best British razor and Eclipse

Waiting for a good price on: Apollo Mikron, Merkur Progress 500 vintage, and Merkur Progress 800.

This will actually make my collection a little more balanced.

All these were acquired at great prices. trying to follow Andreas's diet. I'll make an exception for Mvltiplex and three or four others.

No matter what you use. No one can beat org mode.

But I have to admit , I am on the @sɐǝɹpu∀ razor diet. No more than 25-35$/ razor with some exceptions.

What can I say? Excellent selection. When in doubt, I use a Hoffritz slant. I think they are equivalents, Right?

All Hoffritz slants are Merkur. If yours is the fat-handle long screw it’s the same as my repaired formerly broken vintage 37.
