Merkur 36

Back in the 1950s-60s, possibly 70s too, Merkur produced more slants than just the 37 and 39. One of thee was this 36. Thin, silver handle, chrome, non-scalloped head, but more remarkable: a short screw! This head can be placed on other handles, although I wouldn't know why.
As pretty as its brother, the vintage 38, the weightdistribution is slightly different, so it shaves just a tad different too.

Same razor, but in chrome. Not very often found. When finding one of these, be careful to check the topside of the baseplate, as there are those buying cheap RR37-heads to pass of generic Merkurhandles as a vintage, chrome 36.

Haven't seen a silver one with scalloped cap, haven't seen a chrome one with non-scalloped cap.
The difficult thing is finding Merkur 36 baseplates. The easy thing is not bothering, and sell the RR37 ones. Most would not notice.

With the help of @efsk, I received my chrome version of the Merkur 36 today. It was presented as new, and appears to be. Sticker on box is European designation with an extra 3 in front of the model number (I think).Upon examining the top of the base plate and underside of the cap, there is the indentation around the screw hole and numbers on the side, so this is not a RR37 head. :daumenhoch
