The James of Hudson Street Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #447 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Supply SE Injector and a Supply Black Label Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and then Aqua Velva 5 in 1 ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I’m not a big fan of vintage single edge razors, least of all Gems, but I recently scored this Micromatic in rhe wild, and in reasonably good condition at a great price.Although a somewhat aggressive razor for a Gem, ir gave me a great shave – BBS in two passes (WTG and ATG),
Also of note, having recently moved to a town with very hard water, I find that Barrister and Mann soaps still give me a good lather without a lot of extra work.
