US-made, aluminium, slant of the torqued variety, and it weighs 40g. See here what is known about the Schotz. Later tonightr, or maybe tomorrow, I'll know how it shaves, too.

Interesting razor. Aluminum razors were not common in those days. the torque on the head also looks slighter than regular torqued slants. :daumenhoch

I'm only aware of 3 slants that were made in the USA:

a) the Schotz from Detroit, Michigan,
b) the Gratiot Krect from Portland, Oregon, and
c) the Ziglar from Charleston, South Carolina.

Perhaps there's others.

(By "slanted", I'm referring to the razors that are "twisted", not the razors that are "torqued", which there are several to be found in the States)

Torqued and twisted are the same I think. As opposed to a regular head that’s placed on the handle at an angle.

Vintage, I think you’re right. Present day there’s several others, most of which are clones or near clones of European vintage stuff.

I can see more than a passing resemblance between the Schotz and this Grand Shave King "Self-Lubricating" Razor, at least as regards the handle:

I was thinking that after I'd posted as well. I guess I was really trying to differentiate torqued/twisted versus tilted. Thanks.
