Brillant was an East-German, also DDR, razor brand. An Erfa brand, or Erfa was a Brillant brand, both coming from Thüringen, the VEB Brillant Rasierapparate in Zella-Mehlis, although there's also reports about them coming from Eisleben, Thüringen where the highly regarded Triton blades came from. These razors actually started out as high quality, but, as with most DDR-razor-brands, later quality went a bit down.
Starting with a nice, slanted razor, mostly plastic, in a pretty shipper. Cost back then 1,80 East Marks, an amount of money that would get you a loaf of bread or half a liter of Capri lemonade. Although the baseplate is marked 0 on one side, and not marked on the other, I have not noticed any differentiality.
