ChatGPT - does it shave?

I thought I'd give this new artificial intelligence thingy a go...

That explains a lot:

No.

Better, but still wrong. Give me the right answer, then claim it is wrong.

Let's switch subject:

Bah Humbug!!!

Back to wet shaving:

Waffle, waffle, waffle. Nah.

Finally! A correct answer!

Let's try...

GO AWAY!!! Go visit the web-site, dummy!

Overall - I'm impressed by the wording of answers, but not the knowlege.

Not yet the Kree supreme intelligence.
Still impressive for some stuff, like writing a short marketing text. It can speed things up. Think about visual programming helping generate code but you still need to do the whole analysis, the classes, the inheritance. But it can generate some methods connecting the classes. (hopefully someone will understand what am talking about).

If you're in devops, this is extremely helpful for short scripts.

Apparently it can't do math either. Sometime somewhere someone decides to get lazy and we get Ariane 5 all over again.

I read an interesting idea.
It can't do maths, but it can write computer programs.
It could write a computer program that does the math for it, when it encounters math...
Then again, it's only mediocre at writing computer code.
I gave it a challenge: Write a Javascript program to calculate all prime numbers up to 1,000,000
It wrote a program that gave the correct answer. So far, so impressed.
Its solution was 5 times longer than my best effort and 50 times slower.
Where it was better than me: Write the same routine in C++, Perl, Ruby, Haskell, Cobol and.... tada... APL:

o_O WTF? I can only assume that is correct.

I will to test that too. I think it works better with scripting and procedural languages. I would be good to speed things up for short devops scripts.
Functional and object oriented would require some thought into it for larger code.
Still, this is really impressive.

You can Ask Chatgpt to optimize the code after it generates it. Then ask it to try again.

Who the heck is Alexander Brown? John Doe would have been a good answer as well...
And ChatGPT is obviously sponored by Gillette.

On a different note: I rather dislike the new, "improved", layout of wikipedia.
What's bad about it? I almost like it.
(I still wish you could easily change language in the mobile view)

If you log in you can change back to the old layout.
