Very special razor Stropper mechanism in box, 3 settings for agressivness, telescoping handle. Original design.
One of the best pieces in my collection.
I wasn't able to get the blade out and I am not sure if they were selling blades for this.

Somebody bought a Compax for 300$ as of late apparently. Cheaper than selling a Kidney. I wonder who's the buyer . Hopefully a moderator in this forum.

No kidney, but got one. Different color housing than @Walid 's razor has. The razor has five aggressiveness settings, but I believe you can put the slider in any position you want: the markings are indicative.
Absolutely love the telescoping handle and the little screw on the side of the head that is used to unfasten the blade when you want to strop. Marvelous engineering.

Thank you, efsk, I appreciate very much your welcome and your words! To answer your question about s and d, I can tell you that 's' stood for the British coinage called Shilling and 'd' (for some reason) stood for Penny. So, 2 S and 6 D means 2 Shilling and 6 Pence. Back in the 1930s that was quite a lot of money!

A couple of months ago I came across an empty Compax case. Luckily last week I was able to buy one with the razor inside. I received it yesterday. The bottom of the case is really interesting as it appears to be a demonstrator version which would have been taken from shop to shop to try and promote it / sell it?

Hi. Yes, I'd be confident that this is a salesman's sample. A very common practice in the 1920s/30s to produce examples of razors and strops and for salesmen to take them to various retailers to try and get them to stock their products. Hope you don't mind, but am I able to ask you how much you paid for it? Just that I'm seriously thinking of selling the Compax set that I've pictured above, but I'd have absolutely no idea how much to sell it for!! Thanks
