I've heard it said that there are no "new" DE razor designs. Just recycled old designs.
For example, I understand that the head of the "Wolfman BBS-1" razor was based on the design of a Personna razor that was made in England several decades ago. Since the name of this Personna razor is now a bit obscure, now people refer to it as a "Personna BBS-0". Interesting!
Anyway, here's an "Evermoist" razor. Made by the Evermoist Razor Company of Warren, Rhode Island. (Apologies for the finger smudge on the top of the cap!)
As you can see the patents (to follow) are from 1935.
I've seen this short model described as being for Ladies. However, I prefer to see it as a Travel model...hrummp. There was also a model with a regular long handle.
The competitive advantage that was patented appears to be the holes in the plate, allowing for a smoother shave. I can say that the shave was quite good.
The new, recycled razor that is based on this Evermoist (at least on looks) is the "PAA Artifact". Have a look!
