french Gerbault razor. don’t really much about these razors. I believe this one is the deluxe model. there was an entry model with a slightly different head and a 4 piece travel version. Jt

the razor is nickle plating so i guess the lighting made it look like gold.when i took those pictures i was just expermenting on my ipad. then i wanted to see if i could post them or i would have taken some pictures of the razor taken apart. the shave is close and smooth if you are careful otherwise it will bite you. quite a bit of blade exposure. but it really cuts the whiskers. i bought this razor on another shaving forum from a gentleman who was kind enough to sell it. i really love it and they must be quite rare as i have never seen one for sale although a few other people have posted photos of theirs.jt

Leave it to the French to bring elegance to what appears to be a simple design.

Here's a different Gerbault model. As I've found all too common with French razors, you'll notice that it has a little warp on the plate. I try not to think about it!
