I'm not sure what the future holds for it at the moment. I'm very happy to know that the concept works but there are some issues that need solving.
Knowing myself, I'll probably mess around over the weekend and make version 2 which will solve my current issues but might bring out others.
Couple that to the fact that Heritage are about to release their Gibbs Homage at supposedly sub $100. If that shaves like a Gibbs, this more-or-less becomes a non-starter.
It's an ideal candidate for CNC and then just doing the assembly, but that's a numbers game.
For those of you that trim the edges of the blade, here is a cheap solution for centering those blades.
Developed by Fabien in France - it works great. Its up on Thingiverse, so warm those 3D printers up.
One guy contacted me and showed me this razor in his original box. The shipper is written in Dutch. It was a razor for the Netherlands apparently.
I'll ask him to send me the picture for the shipper box. Reference 20.
Text on the case and the razor itself is French. I've seen such shippers with Dutch text on one side and French on the other, which figures for Belgium, which is where the one you show was produced as well: Brussels.
So, Gibbs had factories in Brussels? Or the Shipper was produced in Brussels?
The reference 20 was new to me, I didn't know it existed. I guess this model was for the Belgian. Did they sell it in the Netherlands too?
Either a factory, or maybe it was their local presence from where they did distribution in Belgium. Whether this was sold in the Netherlands is lost in the mist of times I guess ...
As for Ref20, did not know that one either. We do know however that their numbering was somewhat random at times. What surprises me a bit is that the number is high, where I would have placed this razor early.
The only way to know for sure is to get those Gibbs Agendas they sold in France. They contain valuable information, all the publicity per year, so several agendas are needed. But for the price I found them, they will cost me more than 1000 EUR. I need to keep looking.
I'll talk to some french guys and see what can do here.
