H.W. Travelrazor

Something weird and unknown. Branded H.W. nothing to be found about that. DRGM, so German and pre-WW2. The interesting thing about this razor is the handle: it telescopes. Where usually travelrazors are four-piece, with a two-piece handle that is taken apart and then placed into eachother, this handle has the top slide into the base. Very cool.

Adjustable length handle, or just two settings?

I think it's intended for use in its extended setting, but the parts fit tight enough to have a handle-length of choice.

Having tried it, I find you can use it in two ways: riding the cap, where the shave will be reasonably pleasant but you really have to work on efficiency, or riding the guard, comb in this case, where the shave will e not as pleasant and you have to work on efficiency.

Not a good feature to have for a travel razor if you must work for a good shave. When traveling, either you already have work to do, or you are taking a break from work.

At least the handle telescopes.
