thats one coti for 50p
i have no idea of the vein but could post a pic
it was filthy when i got it but 5 mins in water and as good as new
i use it all the time now

For scale the lv combo is 200mm x 60mm

Joe,

Do you find you have a favorite of the above 4 coticules which you use more than the others?
 
Hi Schatz,

I've recently acquired the hybrid from Gary and this particular hone has given me the keenest dilucot edge, I've ever had from coticule alone and smooth.
That said I'm now getting good results from them since my visit to Gary's and in the process of evaluating the shaves from each one.
I like the hybrid a lot and the lv, early days though.
Funily enough I struggle with the le dresante, Gary seems to think it may not be a dresante?
These stones can vary though, so I can only give an opinion for the ones I have.

The Jnat is a definite keeper for me but not as satisfying as using a coticule

Yowzahs, 50p, very nice. I envy you, I still have to make my that's-only-gonna-happen-to-you-once-twice-if-you're-really born-with-four-leaf-clovers-up-your-arse-find.
 
Referring to the original topic ;) , I just sold my Naniwa Super Stones because the shelf where I'm keeping my hones has started to sag recently :blush:

I didn't sell my Naniwa 5k because I don't see the added value of this particular grid in the progression I sold (1k, 3k, 8k and 12k works just fine).

I'm also keeping my 325/600 dmt though, until such a time as I find a natural stone for bevel setting that pleases me.
