Dears,

This is my first post here and just before presenting razor below I would like to add something about me. After using Muhle R41 for approx. dozen years I was a bit bored about wet shaving, so decided to get some new razors to shave more frequently and enjoy the process more. I have read a lot on this forum (mostly about old German razors) and I am grateful for all shared knowledge.

I just purchased Helvetia razor and it seems to be quite rare specimen, so decided to share pics below for your entertainment. I have not used it yet, but I will :) There is one blade missing in the package so maybe someone used that razor before. It is in excellent condition. It seems to be all plated brass and weights 81g. I like that knurling on the handle a lot ;)

I would be grateful for any info regarding Helvetia razors/company/opinions etc.

Have a great day,
Piotrek

Hello Piotrek. With a name like that I'm guessing you might be Czech...?
Anyway, welcome.
I posted a thread on "another major shaving website" entitled Helvetia: The Swiss RFB, if you want to have a quick search and look.

Helvetia Open Comb Safety Razor, Silver, Switzerland 10.jpeg

I provided some photos of my Helvetia, with a handle different from yours, and compared it to another RFB, the Rotbart.
Cheers.
Ken

Hello @Snowbeard
"Piotrek" is simply a less formal version of "Piotr" - in Poland :)
I have bought that Helvetia partly because I have read yours "or the Helvetia is a little better than the Tris which is a little better than the Gillette" ;) Thank You Ken. I was not able to test that yet.
I like that uncommon handle of your Helvetia.
I just like that user friendly and easy to search "Just one thread per brand/model please!" policy, so posted it here.
I have some Rotbarts as well. I have to try more razors to present and comment them, but sooner or later I will get in touch, here or there.
best regards,
Piotrek
