I hope someone can identify this hone. I bought it from ebay from a stock of old barber supplies from France.
The hone was stored in a box which would indicate some value.
The dimensions are 13,5 cm x 7,5 cm x 2.0 cm. It feels very hard and glassy.
When I lapped it, it smelled earthy. The swarf is greyish.
Can anybody identify the stone? And how can you test the stone to get some grit identification?
Photos: the box, the swarf, the one without water before lapping, the one with water after lapping.
