Grand!
Is that a hinged blade(-holder)? Wow.
Surely that would have been worth a patent or two!
What a wonderful design. And look at that handle! Gorgeous.
That was certainly more than my recommended £20. :lol

Waits says it is from Vienna, Germany. I have my doubts.

I saw one of those years ago on some web page with "unusual" razors on it, was just pictures I think, no info.

Next to each other. They are the same size and made of Aluminium

The blades

The first has hinges up to the end of the blade (this is most likely the first generation) Two big holes for the studs and the smaller holes to attach the blades to the hinge mechanism

The second generation blade, the engineering process has optimized and they probably realized the blade is still rigid enough without the hinges at the end but they pinched the two edge for better structural rigidity. Two big holes for the studs and six smaller holes.

The third generation of the blades they got smarter and cut more on the cost of the blade manufacturing process. the six smaller hole are now just four but they pinched 4 other smaller holes in the big holes

Marvelous documentation sir! Beautiful razors, and weird blades. I love them.
Interesting Mayer sold them. Competition for their own MeM razors.

Yes Marvellous indeed, I have to get to the bottom of that Mayer thing too. There were sets that sold with Mayer logo, MIWA logo and no logo at all.

For the other razor, I found 2 different kits.

Mayer was the local reseller in Vienna.
