The Chicago cutlerer Pomco was founded by Otto Pomper, an American of German descent. Like many others, he sold Solingen wares in his store, amngst which rebranded Merkur razors. Later, he/they designed their own models too, some of which were fitted with Merkur heads.
The Pomco 37:

Then there's this fathandled, short screw three piece. The razor itself is not branded, but I've seen more of these sets for sale, so either there are a lot of mismatches around, or it is meant to be like this

One of their originals: the Pomcomatic. A huge razor with a 37 head, this was batteryoperated in order to vibrate. I have another one that I still need to photograph, that has the sticker on the base that is missing here. Last pic shows sizecomparison with a 37:

Another original is this beautiful Lady Pomco. On regular side, one cured side, and a very nice handle. Very happy I found one with case and shipper:

Had a shave tonight on my recently received Lady Pomco. rasierensmilie

The razor was surprisingly well constructed and had good balance, even though the handle felt a little strange at first with the weight mostly on the bottom and the grip area being so slim. I decided to do my first pass with the curved side and thought of it as a Seygus on steroids. After my first stroke, which was a little rough, I immediately adjusted my angle to be more on the cap and suddenly it turned into one of the most gentle and efficient razor I used. The original plan was to use the straight side for my ATG pass, but I was now curious to see how the curved side performed ATG. That pass was even more gentle and efficient than the WTG pass and so I thought I would try out the straight side for touch up. I realized that after two passes, there wasn't anything to touch up and so the straight side never got used tonight.

What I really enjoyed was that the curved area fit my chin perfectly, and I did not have to do any stretching or shaving gymnastics to get a close shave on my chin. This is one more strange razor highly recommended to me by @efsk that worked very well. :daumenhoch
