Lovely scent, this Stirling Fougere variation.
The Pacific 100 does show differential aggression in the two rollers. Does make for a nice and very smooth shave.

The recent posts about adding menthol to soaps triggered my memory and started a search for my old mentholated stuff. This one is a 10% fueled Arko and cold as my Mother in law. Still pretty good lather and my brain is still in despair.

The 2nd soap of Mama Bears: Oakleaves & Acorns. It supprised me! Out of the tub it is a nice scent, but when lathered up it became even better. It as fresh autumn scent I would say.

The Timeless and Feather are an effective couple and a very close result was achieved. Have a good Saturday!

Yesterday my new OC razor arrived, the previous owner could not handle it.
Shaves a bit less effective and a bit more comforable as JAWS, just like you would expect. The Bell ringer is a really good soap.

I knew this would happen - the Shark blade died, and I mean DIED. It’s an absolute fluke that it held up for three passes but there’s no way it’ll even cut butter now so I threw it out and I’ll use a new one tomorrow. These South African soaps I have are all magnificent - the Unforgettable from Gilly has a beautiful bay rum scent, the lather is so rich as well as slick, and it leaves a great postshave feeling. The Prep’s cooling sensation and moisturizing felt heavenly after this shave. The Black Garter cologne has a scent which I find delightful because it’s so old school - in fact it was used in barbershops a long time ago. Although I had to work hard for it I had a terrific BBS shave!

Yesterday my young friend gave me the Declaration Taxes soap.

First of all I notice the fantastic scent that this soap has foamed up and is really pure enjoyment for the sense of smell.

An American soap yes, so we start loading the shaving brush and let the faucet run because the Americans usually like a couple of big swigs of water. This soap is an exception because the first froth was too watery.

Okay to start over again and now with more policy and see then we soon had a bowl full of foam.

What struck me during the shave was that the foam for a Tallow soap doesn't have that nice full greasy feeling.
We should be able to do better so next time we'll start the loading process with a well shaved brush.
 
This shave was from this morning. 06.00 Today a busy day. work until noon, then quickly in the car and 130 km to get to the bbq on time with friends. Then sail along on a lighted boat. To sail with during the lightly decorated boat trip. This event is always the week before the pramenrace (https://www.aalsmeer.nl/ontdek-aalsmeer/evenement/pramenrace) This is where a lot of drinks go on, so tonight we will sleep in the old neighborhood again.
and tomorrow with a hangover, again 130km back to the peace at home. and this again next week.
Anyway the shave, a nice shave despite the time. This razor has been in my possession for some time, but it keeps surprising me. Love the smell of this soap whit a little menthol.. gentlemen make it a fun weekend.
