uniformed questions about vault reservation

Gents,
I'll be glad when my questions are better informed.
It's a great advantage to see what characteristics are seen in a particular stone. Is there a ways to get some feel for what one should expect to pay for a vault stone? Without knowing, it's sort of flying blind. Maybe it would be great, but irrelevant if I can't afford it.

Does that make sense? Is there a rule of thumb - by surface area or surf. area x weight? something that would give an idea of the ballpark cost?

Thank you for your patience w/ the noob question.

Yes, in threads discussing the availability of the stones, Bart estimates the costs. However, all coticules currently in the vault have been purchased (unless there are some that were recently added; I didn't take the time to check).

Paul, Thank You.

Is there a place the threads are collected? Or does experience with the forums give one a sense as to where/when they're to be found - like a new batch being added?

Again, I appreciate your kind help.

Paul, thank you for your patience. I literally just came from that thread, thinking I had found my answer - which you kindly confirm.

I'll try to get smarter quickly so your patience can be for another noob.

Thank You again!

Feel free to call me Job...

No need to be "smarter". There is an almost universal inclination people have to ask questions without searching first. You aren't the first, and assuredly won't be the last. But, a little good natured ribbing is still in order B)

You might also try such a Google search. Even better, go to Google Alerts and create an alert by pasting the previous search string, I'd just change "Volume" to "All results" - and google will do all the job for you, emailing you when it indexes any fresh additions. Mind you, there might be a delay, I don't know how fast google will index additional content on the forum. But with a new reservation system it should pose a somewhat less important issue.

Hope it's enough clear and helps?

cheers,
Matt

If you want to find any additional written information about one of the Vault specimens, search for "n°[number]". (replace[number] with the number of the Coticule you want to know more about). I try to be consistent in using that specific format, whenever I post about hones from the Vault.

Kind regards,
Bart.
