Valencia

Today is Tuesday and so this means I shave with a slant. Today I shave with my Valencia which is a French razor made possibly around the 1930s. Not only is it one of my more efficient and comfortable slants, but it is the most beautiful with the long open comb and elegant curves. This is a razor that I enjoy looking at as much as I enjoy shaving with.

Of course, I am also chumming the water again to attract the big fish. ;)

Terrific razors, Valencia. Made in France, 30-50s, by Leresche. Unknown whether Valencia was a Lereshe brand or Leresche just produced for them. They (the Valencia brand) only carried slants, all open comb. Basically three types: A. 3-part, thin handle, short screw, B. 3-part, thin handle, long screw, C. 3-part, fat handle, long screw. Multiple type-designations used for the same razor, depending on case.
After acquiring a number of Valencia's, I was lucky enough to get a product-sheet that describes, in French, what the different versions should look like.

The productsheet came with my first, at the point of writing only, Reddit-purchase: the N°801A.
Cardboard box, feels impregnated.

The only one not on the productsheet shown earlier is the first Valencia I bought. Same fat handle long screw as shown by @Kingjack and @gvw755

Slim-handled, these razors only get better. Look at this model 601A. Despite the case being in tatters, it really is a marvellous, and in my collection favorite, razor.

Then there's this unboxed one. Also thin-handled,but with long screw. Uncased, meaning it can be of two models: the 501 or the 501C. Regardless, shaves like a dream!

Unknown what type this is, but it has the same razor as the 601A, and a case that is a variation on the 301A. Very happy with the blades as well :)

Beautiful again Richard. A thin handle Valencia is still on my wishlist, I’am a bit jealous.

It's still a mighty pretty slant to see.

I think I was allowed to test it about 5 years ago and what I remember is that it is a very efficient slant.

And so efficient that it was too much for my daily shaving.

In those last 5 years my shaving technique has increased due to the arrival of many equally efficient razors like the Paradigm, so I'm curious what qualification I would hang on the Valencia now.

Managed to acquire this marvelous little Valencia "Toiletry Bag". Won't hold anything except the razor and bladebanks, but that doesn't make it less pretty.
Blade banks as found in other sets, fat handle, long screw model as found in other sets as well.

60cm*80cm. Enamel on steel, twosided. To be mounted perpendicular to a wall so people coming from both sides could see the marvel of Valencia.
