Brush and soap:
Maseto Silvertip Badger Shaving Brush - Memphis and Pinaud-Clubman Shave Soap:
The Maseto Silvertip Badger Shaving Brush - Memphis is exactly the right brush for the final of the Pinaud-Clubman Shave Soap. This, technically very good, soft soap went on this morning. That's good, because I don't like it. Actually a sea where nothing really matters, but also so neutral of smell etc., that it adds nothing. The foam is very good, but then I know more. When I see again, that I need 15x to empty the box, it is also screamingly expensive with a price of €13.95 and many times more expensive, than a box of soap from e.g. MDC or LPL, which just never run out. So for me this has been the first and last Clubman soap. Well that said, still a nice basis for a good shave.
Blade and razor:
Used the Super-Max stainless for the 1st time.
Then the blade. I am absolutely no fan of Super-Max stainless. Yet this morning I shaved with some surprise with this blade. Earlier I characterized this blade as not special and something like the Derby extra. However, this 1st time this morning was really nice. In the Merkur 39C Slant Long Handle Barber Pole the Super-Max stainless didn't do a bad job at all. I feel a bit more pulling, than with a top blade, but that wasn't disturbing at all and the combination was very accurate shaving. Slick all around.
Result: BBS.
Finally: with the 4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser the lack of nice smell in the Pinaud was compensated. With the Weleda Aftershave Balsam somewhat lubricated, but that was not really necessary, because the Pinaud soap is quite good in care and moisturizing. Then some extra fougere and spiciness with the Loris E-85 Dior Fahrenheit and I was satisfied again.
