Druseidt

Here with one of my rarest pieces from my collection:
Foldable planes Patent Druseidt with the inscription Ratio.
I cannot say whether Druseidt or Ratio was the manufacturer.
In the "Safty Razor Compendium" there is no more precise one
Information about the manufacturer.
There will also be a structurally identical one of
Impero (Italy around 1930) mentioned.
Furthermore, this plane and "ratio" is described in more detail.

Thank you guys.
@efsk
I tried it once at the time.
The shave wasn't that good.
It may be that it was due to the old Punktal razor blade (the newer razor blades do not fit).

However, it cannot be ruled out that you may need some practice with this safety razor.
Since then the safety razor has been lying well protected in my small display cabinet.

Congratulations Brille on this little gem. Your Druseidt has some very interesting features. First of all, the manufacturer, Paul Druseidt, Remscheid (close to Solingen) later Godesberg, Germany. The razor head is marked with Druseidt, but that is not a trademark, at least I have not found anything about it. The handle is marked with Ratio, which is a trademark of Walter Stock, Solingen, registered on July 28, 1915. Walter Stock made the Ratio stropping and honing machines. but also safety razors and safety razor handles. For safety razor handles he received three D.R.G.M registrations in 1918 and in 1917 a registration for a safety razor under D.R.G.M 706162.The special thing about your razor are the two/three centimeter curved blade holder. They can be inserted into a guide in the bottom of the tin, which should then sharpen the blade by moving it back and forth over the bottom of the tin, use it with a little shaving soap. I only have a copy of the description. Do you have the Druseidt tin? Try it, and post a photo, please. I haven't found a patent application, like it is marked on the handle. But it is only D.R.P.a what is something like petant pending. Sometimes it never came to a Patent. I think that Druseidt and Stock knew each other very well and developed this razor together.You can also find a few different models in the book Rasoi e lame barbe e baffi by Franco Lorenzi on page 66.
