Plastic fliptops were also made. Here's one in white pollopas, with gilded knob and topcap. Unfortunately, mine has plateloss on the topcap. Note the little screw on the side of the handle that keeps the whole thing together:

Very nice collection. I never knew there were so much variety of flip tops. The Needlepoint with bakelite cap and handle is interesting, kind of like a low budget version?:confused

Got another fliptop yesterday, same as the white-gold except this has chrome.
Mulcuto always made a lot of variations of one razor, see the normal Schrägschnitt, that came in full metal, all plastic, and any combination. I think they just tried to cater to all tastes. Unless we find out this was made in the early 40s, then it could be that there was less metal because of the war-effort.

Terrific, fantastic razors, in particular the 2rd one, I love already. Any tip where I can find it? Thanks!

I just came to know that Mulcuto is still producing safety razors. How do we know that we're buying a vintage instead of a brand new one? Is it the packaging ?

The new Mulcuto are a different brand from the old ones. The new ones are regular, where the vintage is slanted. I have no experience with the new ones, but I absolutely LOVE the vintage Mulcuto slant. Preferably the plastic ones, as they shave terrific, but the all-metal ones look really good.

That’s vintage. Possibly pre-war. Handles were changed some time post war, this is not a postwar handle. You need one of these.

I read somewhere they were also used by Wehrmacht soldiers as PSU during WO II. That would also explain why complete boxes of six razors still pop up.

Ok, Bought it. Delivery probably next month. I will dig deeper into these razors. I am starting to appreciate these more.
@efsk Now I am starting to understand what you once told about variations in Razors. It's not 50 more razors that will make a collection more complete.
Too many variations.

Do we have a chronology of these razors, which one came first and what followed. We probably need a book for these types of razors.
