Neo Lux, Gam, Ras

I finally get to see the non diagonal one up close and taken apart! Interesting that they just threaded their regular post instead of putting in a regular screw post.
It helps showing it really is supposed to be this way I guess. Non of my other Zaiss-heads has a threaded centerpost, so this really was done specifically for this model.

You'll be the first to know when I find one, and the first to get one when I find two :)
Thanks. I won't be holding my breath.
I have an idea where I might be able to see one. ;)
So the real question is: why did you trade against the rotary Collins? :flucht1
Because that was an option and it is rather pretty and it's single edge. And silver plated.
It was not a "pick a razor - any razor" kind of situation :)
And I didn't look for an Ebor that day.
And I ended up with a Schick Type A and a King as well.
Now everyone is wondering what the heck we're talking about. :p

I found a reference to the Ebor in the Waits Compendium in Google books.

I was expecting the non diagonal version to look like this instead of the traditional threading on the post.

It says that the head can be attached as regular or diagonal. I am assuming that the clip needed t be disassembled and reassembled on the side. Very interesting razor.

The one I've shown above was marketed as NeoGam. This Ebor is one that's been on my searchlist for a while. There is also a Cep, which has stepless adjustable diagonality. Don't know if that's a word.

The patent number 801132 is actually for the handle.
The name Ebor is a combination of the first two letters of the inventors:
Fritz EBert and Charlotte ORlowski.
I've been wanting one for years. No luck.

Well if you and efsk has been searching for one for years, what chance do I have? I will leave the search to the both of you and just drool at the pics when you find one. :sabber1

Then I have been drooling for years at the sight of all those beautiful pictures and especially of the accompanying knowledge that you place here.

In that respect you are a beautiful triumvirate who complement each other beautifully. goodjob!

Here's an older one. Baseplated marked DRP and Made in Germany. First time I see one with a black bakelite head (I've one with a silver painted head but that is not the same), also first time I see this soapbox type case.

Happy you found one! These non-slanted NeoGam indeed are terrific razors. In a way it is strange they made so many slanted models, yet so few regular heads, when the regular ones were so damn good!

Lovely razors, I wanted to start collecting all the colors I though they would look good on my display. I paid about 20-25 each except for one.
Except for this one, I wanted to go the extra mile and pay extra...27 Euro, but I made a mistake and entered 72. Some fool bid close to that amount and made me lose money.:kommnurher1

Since I am not very familiar with German DEs, I now wonder if this was a legitimate price. Maybe some of you can inform me.

Well, now it looks good in my collection and will be there for the end of times (Yes, I intend to live forever)

First time I see that shipper. Nice.
As for price, you got the rare metal cap one, and a never before seen shipper.

This is rare? I was just trying to get a Marbled Neo-Ras. I have 2 Neo with metal cap now. I want to complet the other colors.
Do all the colors come in metal cap as well?

This is what I have so far.

Looking for the red, black, pink and blue.
