I played around with this pre-shave stuff a long time ago. I even went so far as to make my own out of olive oil and caster oil, as recommended by someone on SRP.

What I found out was that these pre-shaves were more of a nuisance than anything else, and totally unnecessary, not to mention the mess the oil made.

It is my personal opinion that if one preps the beard correctly with a good cleaning and hot water, and uses a sharp razor, there is nothing else needed to achieve that bbs shave I have come to enjoy.

Just my two cents.
