With shorter days and a drawer full of straights in need of touching up or honing from scratch to shave ready, I decided to hone my skills on sharpening my straights myself. All of my razors I’ve gotten from an experienced and respected forum member or they’ve been sharpened by him. With limited stones and a lot to learn I started to try and bring back a few razors with some succes. I’ve managed to get a few to shave however not very comfortable. Currently I have a 1000/3000 Naniwa combistone, a standard coticule jaune #6000 (according to the box) and a coticule bout of unknown origin and a weird unpractical shape. What would be a logical next stone to add to my collection to get my shaves more comfortable. 8000, 10000? Preferably on a budget?
