Your top 5 in shaving soaps and shaving creams.

Well-Known Member
With the advent of many new shaving soap manufacturers, we are discovering new jewels of shaving soap all the time.

That's why my top 5 in shaving soaps and shaving creams looks completely different than many years ago.

With this in mind, everyone in the next few years will probably be posting here again. ;)

So although it's only a snapshot, I wonder what your current top 5 in shaving soaps is?

My top 5 looks like this:

Scheerzeep

1: Penhaligon’s Blenheim Bouquet
2: Kepkinh Magnolia
3: Jack Dean Shaving soap Tea Tree & Eucalyptus

5: Stirling Scots Pine Sheep

Unfortunately, this list changes every 3-4 months. Sometimes only in a few points, but sometimes very extensive. As in the last six months. In December 2018 I started to shave with the straight razors and since then there is not a single shave with a safety razor. And I notice that the ranking of soaps and creams has changed completely in part because the requirements for a soap or cream on the knife are even higher. Here are my current Top Five in unspecified order. But I'll probably stop by and make a few changes here.

Soaps:
  • Klar
  • Tabac
  • Wickham 1912
  • Mystic Water
  • Declaration Grooming

Cremes:
  • Castle Forbes
  • Taylor of Old Bond Street
  • D. R. Harris
  • Truefitt & Hill
  • Speick

Really @The King , is the Penhaligon BB soap that good. Do you mean the soap and not the cream (read reply of @Snuff ).

Is this high score for the odeur or other soap qualities as well?

Martin de Candre Agrumes

I’m no expert but isn’t this a soap (and a hard one at that) instead of a cream?

Oooh there's my so carefully built reputation as shaving soap king in ruins. :auslachen1

You're absolutely right, the MDC Agrumes is on the wrong list.

The shaving cream has recently gone up and this was the first shave with the shaving soap.

The smell is a bit milder than that of the cream but for me it remains the most beautiful scent that is available in shaving soap or cream.

The shaving soap is of very good quality and because this was the first time I used it I did not pre-shave applied. But the skin was covered with a full fat high quality foam which has good shaving properties and care.

Soap:
  1. Stirling - Black cherry glacial
  2. Essence of Scotland - Scottish heather
  3. Meissner- Indian flavour
