Apollo / Ben Hur

I picked up some Apollo razors from her late husband who used to travel to Germany.

What @efsk meant is that this is an Apollo thread. There is a thread for Mulcuto. It's better to post your Mulcuto there
That, and to prevent misidentification in the future :)
@Sprag Marvellous range of Apollo you got there. From the first one you posted, could you show a pic of the short ends of the shipper? Usually that shows a model-number, which would be interesting.

Another one
The first one I posted is naked on the tag on the razor, it’s a 240G. Here’s a pic of the shipper

A pleasant discovery

I was searching for a old straight razor that I knew was lying somewhere in my house and I found this Ben Hur open comb lying in bathroom cabinet. It was just lying there since decades completely overlooked as to its origins. It's been about five years since I've into wet shaving with DE razors but was totally unaware of its existence.
Oh, and I found the straight razor too

A three-piece razor with a bakelite handle. There was no box or case unfortunately.

Looks like a swing handle. But what do I know? German DE razors are not my niche. Just starting to learn more about them (and making stupid mistakes when buying them).

Here's two Apollo's. At least the one on the left is. I'm not sure what the other one is as it's unbranded but the head looks like the head of an Apollo or a Ben Hur in at least some respects. The first one's zamak while the second one is all brass. Both weigh in at 66 grams.

Are you referring to the flip top razor or the one leaning on the leather pouch?

I do not believe the one on the right is an Apollo or Ben Hur. It is missing the telltale "propellor"-shape the regular Ben Hur/Apollo have (except for the very old ones which this is not either). No idea what it is however.

Sorry, the bakelite Ben hur in the leather pouch.
The translated post doesn't have the pics that I can see.
We don't know what it's called. Unfortunately, no catalogue has yet surfaced that shows model-numbers.

Wow beautiful, I only have the box of this model!

This model has been shown as Apollo. Here it is branded Ben Hur

Yesterday I saw this same razor but it was branded as a Palmera. I wasn't interested in it because it was a slant and I'm not that into slants. But, I did make a mental note of it as I thought it was odd being branded that way. Reminds me that the Palmera's that I have are indeed of a high quality (reflecting their proud German heritage if I understand the brand correctly). Unfortunately, I can't locate the Palmera that I saw yesterday, despite looking for it on the websites I usually search. No doubt it was snapped up by someone by now!

Can you post a picture of the box?

@efsk bought it. It's a slant, what did you expect? The slant master will live it be? Of course not. :)
