John. I've no experience with the BBW whatsoever (on this, or any other), but I'll keep that in mind for future tinkering. Cheers.squeezyjohn said:Just a thought. If your La Petite Blanche is releasing slurry on water and impeding a nice finish (it's doing that on my one I think) why not try doing the last stages on the BBW side (I'm assuming most LPBs are combination stones because the layer is so thin). I was thinking of trying that next time with mine as the BBW side is supposed to be slower.
EDIT: After 100+ x-strokes on water and using plenty of rinsing to subdue any slurry I got it up to HHT3.
The toe of the blade is dropping hair for fun, so I know this hone has what it takes to get there. I guess the rest is up to me.
The sensation on water was very slick and silky. Nothing like the slight draw I get with the Les Latneuses hybrid side.
Still, I don't think I've done too bad considering it's only the second time round. I'm calling it draw and I'm off for the shave.
