Janus on 4 / Wizamet on 4th shave
Rubberset 400 / Silvertip
Tabac
Prep

No rush this morning so I decided to take the Janus for it's second spin, but decided that I needed to see what the moans are about.

I dialed it to 4 and shaved. I used a light touch and really concentrated on letting it do the work. It seems to like opening up weepers from the previous days shave because it did the same thing to me again, today. By the time the shave was over it was closed though. A two pass with some touch-ups in my chin area and I was pretty much BBS. (I missed a touch-up on my left hand side - my own fault)

With no pressure and at "4" I found it pretty slick with a small amount of blade feel. So it's still fairly aggressive, but certainly not a handful.

My experience with the Janus was different, to much blade feel. Even my FaTip MK1 was feeling extreme mild compared with the Janus that why i had to let go. With faTip i can cruise over my face but the Janus ask to much concentration.

I find that I need to concentrate far more with the 2019 Sailor than with the Janus. My next shave with it will be on "1, maybe 2".
On both days that I used it, I ensured that I would be in no rush.

Did you send yours back?

Brush and soap:
Yaqi R1605-S Tuxedo and Via Barberia Shave Soap Fructi:
Given the sun is already burning this morning a cooling start. First some Prep Skin Protective Cream on the head. Then a hefty lick of Chiseled Face Cryogen in the Yaqi R1605-S Tuxedo for further loading with Via Barberia Shave Soap Fructi. Fruity menthol with citrus. Nice fruity and cool. Also not unimportant, fine foam!
Blade and razor:
The Astra Superior Platinium for the 2nd time used. A previously used Astra Superior Platinium picked from the magnet. Used once to test the Daimondback and could already look forward to what I'm about to see. Smooth face. The Paradigm Daimondback with the Astra Superior Platinium is awesome! I had to be careful on the back of the skull not to pull anything loose, but otherwise efficient and comfortable. Nice work again. Result BBS.
Finally: some citrus with the Eyüp Sabri Tuncer Kolonya Klasik Limon. Then the neutral Seinz. After Shave Balsam and spicy, but also fruity, Loris E-162 Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb. A cool start, sultry end.

This soap base is on YouTube very popular. Now I understand why. To say that this is impressive would be an understatement. Very happy with this shave!!
