Paradigm

@The King :
How does the Paradigm 17-4 compare to the Timeless 0,95 Smooth regarding the level of comfort? The Timeless gives me a very comfortable and close shave.

So also a Dutch invasion at West Coast Shaving. :lol

One consolation even if he does not quite meet the expectations, this is usually a safety razor that you can easily sell again.

But if he already shaves as well as the 17-4 you never put him away and you have a safety razor for the rest of your life. :daumenhoch

Got rid of the Timeless, would pay $1000 for a 17-4 if need be but YMMV of course.
btw if you are new to west coast shaving you get -10% on your first order, that should help so you can still eat 1 sandwich a day for the next month.

After the Paradigm arrived here, I quickly re-done the Timeless 0.95 Smooth to Kingjack.

The Timeless Smooth is compared to the Scalloped version certainly more comfortable.

Say that the difference in shaving comfort between the two is also the difference between the Smooth and the Paradigm in favor of the Paradigm.
In addition, the effectiveness of the Paradigm is certainly a step higher.

The Paradigm is a bit of a Wolf in sheep's clothing because because he shaves so comfortably and you hardly feel the razorblade, you are inclined to put some pressure on it.

Absolutely don't because he shaves you more than smooth and this without you noticing it. If you are going to put pressure on it, it is certain that you have lost part of your upper house as deep as it is shaving.

But the 17-4 is (almost) not for sale and the Diamondblack is according to the testers even better than the 17-4.

I just run up the stairs and god thanks the upper part of the house is still there :lol

correction the Javelin is better then the 17-4, I have heard nothing about testers of the diamondback sharing their experiences so far.

But like you said if it's not your thing you won't loose money on it if you put it up for sale. Fingers crossed that it is indeed even smoother then the Javelin.

A typo in a translating engine and interesting stuff comes out. Such as upper house where an epidermis is meant.

The translations sometimes remind me of the television series "Allo allo".

The café owner often blamed his wife for that and said "you stupid women".

From now on, I'm going to say "you stupid translation site" when making mistakes.:D

I am totally sympathetic to your situation. For several months I have been a member of FdR and using deepl to translate. Often times shaving terms do not translate well, and few times they did not make any sense. ;)

A short video with an explanation of the Paradigm Diamondback. The guy in the video stated there is some blade feel... Hopefully the Razor is still Smooth enough.

With the Paradigm 17-4 you also feel the razor blade somewhat, but it is the optimal combination of efficiency and comfort.

It is important, as is always mentioned here, not to put any pressure at all. If you do not then you have the feeling that you are shaving with a very mild safety razor while at the same time you are shaved very deeply without any irritation to run.

Normally the more efficient (often called aggression) a safety razor is, the more the razorblade makes itself feel.
Take the R41-2013 by example although this is the tame version and it is pretty efficient, it is in my opinion very uncomfortable during shaving because the razorblade makes itself feel prominent.

However, I only noticed this for the first time after I first shaved with a Wolfman that Snuff lent to me. It was just as effective but slipped much softer and more comfortable over the skin.

And that is the great advantage of the Paradigm for me that the shaving feeling despite its efficiency remains so mild.

Received word that the difference between the javelin and the new one is rather different but that's one persons opinion of course. Lets hope for the best.

Should someone be on the lookout for a Paradigm 17-4 I have a good friend in the US that's considering selling his one (pm as I don't think it's allowed to put something on the BST when your not the seller himself)

The Diamondback that was on preorder has completely sold out

Shipping will be After the 16th of September I read on the website of West Coast Shaving. Hopefully the Diamondback will compensate the pain for not owning a 17-4.

It won’t, you can not live without a 17-4, ask Hans if you don’t believe me :) Maybe Tjebbe will sell his one because he doesn’t like it
