Questions about a hanging strop...

I find the differences to be much greater than Robin. My "razor rotation" has become almost nonexistent. I use one or two razors, and I've found that my SRD Premium IV, with the übercool and super classy poly weave linen component, is much better at keeping my razors in shave ready than anything else I've tried. My Scrupleworks strop is the second most effective strop, and it's not too far behind. It's much thinner so possible cupping in the future concerns me. However, Torolf may have prevented that with the way he combined the linen and the big leather end pieces at the proximal and distal ends; I don't know. I also love that handle, it's very comfortable. The draw on the Scrupleworks strop is more than I prefer, but it's very effective for maintenance relative to the other strops I've tried.

I`ve got a TM with a linnen side...dont like the linnen side as it is very stiff,so very often I put on my good ol` worn jeans, bend my knees and strop on my thigh. It works like a charm, even better than my Dovo with linnen. It`s a very tactile feeling as the presure of the razor is very noticable, making it easy to feel just the right pressure.

i agree the last tm linen i got was differant. i softened mine with conditioner. It was not as good or efective as my original tm linen.

tony miller is now using a differant linen. So that explains . I preferd the older linen.

Darn Gary..you either sold me a lousy strop or you are using my jeans in secret! Dont really know what is worst;)

The former TM linen strop is quite awfull...stiff and harsh and with a terribly abbrasive sound when stropped. I seppareted it from the leather, washed and conditioned it carefully, but it went back to the original harsness..and shrunk 20-30 mm.

But still, nothing beats my old jeans..

In respect and thanks to Gary
