I have sent an email order on the 16th and receive the invoice on the 17th.
I hope I will get my razor next week;)

I sense a slight misunderstanding here. Revisor are a small company who manufacture high class razors. Unlike your average online shop, they do not consist of one more or less knowledgeable sales droids waiting beside his computer to push his wares in your direction. They are German craftsmen.

So why don't you exercise a modicum of patience, and look forward to your razor instead? Or read a good book?

You preach patience...that's good we all need more patience...Right?

I Totally agree whit that... having a confirmation that your order is in and will be taken care of in due time helps, don't you think?
Also to know how a company operates helps one to have more patience insted of doubting if the " email order " is in. don't you think?

Or read a good book?

Have you read it yet ?

There were no criticism in what I said. Revisor has always replied quickly (the day after). My order is on the way. I'm just waiting for the postman ringing at my door.

It is my understanding that Revisor are small. Certainly a lot smaller than Dovo. And that customer satisfaction is at the top of their agenda, which is why they do not use retailers. I find it remarkable how anyone would contact an artisan (which is what Revisor basically are) and expect an instant reply. Maybe my own priorities do not match with those of the general razor acquiring population, but a) I use razors because I enjoy the aspect of spending quality time with quality products, and b) because I expect men to outgrow the desire for instant drive satisfaction at the age of three. To quote the venerable Yoda, 'The boy has no patience.'

I met Thomas about two years ago. He has gone out of his way to help both myself, and the shaving community ever since. As you may have noticed, he also helped coticule.be out when Bart was looking for high quality razors for one of his arcane experiments. I very much like his approach to razors, and I like how he steers clear of modern(istic) designs. All the Revisoren I have shaved with so far were far above average razors. That is all I expect when buying a razor.

Robin

Thanks for the info Robin.

In my understanding of the interwebz... things get lost or simply sometimes don't reach destination.
well it happen a few days ago wen my mail to Bart for the free honing service.

In today's era an age whit the interwebz if you don't have a response in the next day 99% of the time something went wrong.

I was looking for a strop and after research Tony miller was the man.
Mid December in is site the first page was saying he was closed till mid January.
i sent an email explaining that i was interested, and if he could put me in is waiting list.
I knew he was an artisan.
Revisor i had no idea.

I received an mail from him the next day ,i wasn't expecting that since he was on Holiday's.
I ask him if he had a begginer's strop to pratice since i was a begginer,so i could ptractice until i recived my strop. a member on a forum said he usually do that.
On the 27 December he sent me an email telling me he had cut the strop and asking me the options i would like.

This morning i received the invoice from Thomas... Great now i know my order is in.
Now it can take a month before it gets here, i don't care i I'm patient whit that.

Let's see if you understand this... if in Revisor's site that was an option to " BUY IT NOW " where you buy and you pay... i would of never ask if they were slow to answer an email.
On the other hand if i knew Revisor was an artisan i would be more patient about it.
My question was only to find out if it was " normal " to wait more then 24 hours for an answer from this seller.

Now that you explain to me who Revisor and Thomas are... i will appreciate is Razor even more, thanks for that.

Kind regards
adri

That's not bad... where are you... in europe.
I received my invoice saturday morning, i have no idea wen it will be here.
Let us know how you like the shave.;)

cheers

Just take my revisor parcel at my post office.
The factory edge is (before and after stropping )a solid HHT 3 on the rear half of the edge on medium hair and a HHT 2 at 1cm from the holding point on the other half. So I think it's "shave ready" .
I have chosen a model with dark natural horn and it has just some little flaws on the scale (some scratches under the varnish...) but maybe it is what make the difference between horn and good plastic.

Good to know... so i will do the HHT on mine once it arrive and will report on it.

So the stropping had no effect on it... wich strop do you used...

Thanks for the info Laurent.

I have used the hanging strop (60/60) sold by revisor (russian leather/ Vweave linen with white dust ) which is very similar to the DOVO/JEMICO.
