Thursday morning:

Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Super Speed/Gillette day 6
RVT Frosty Bay Rum SS
Prep ASB
Krampert’s Bay Rum AS Splash
Oscar Pour Lui EdT

This Frosty Bay Rum soap has such a gorgeous scent - in fact I think it’s one of the most delightful bay rum scents I’ve ever experienced since I’ve been shaving. Not only that, it delivered tons of some of the best lather a guy could want as well as its nice menthol sensation and its great postshave feeling. The Prep was the perfect choice of a balm and the Krampert’s Bay Rum aftershave also smells awesome. The wife loves the Oscar on me. Three passes did the job for me - not even a professional barber could have shaved me better than this!

Blade: Voskhod (1)
Pre-Shave: Proraso Pre
Soap: Aleppo Soap CO Aleppo shaving soap
Brush: Market Boar brush
Aftershave: Physalis Hamameliswater
Aftershave: Brut Original
Aftershave: Speick Men Aftershave Balm Sensitiv
EDT: Brut Original

First shave ever with Aleppo shaving soap. The soap give glide but no protection and lather, i think it is better to use it as bathsoap then shaving soap. A mild razor saved the day.

I had the same experience with the soap. It is impossible to get a lather out of it. But it works ok as a bathsoap.

Brush and soap:
Semogue 1305 Boar Bristle Shaving Brush and Dead Sea Shave - Tempest:
Although I'm not a head-lhatterer, this morning I tried to make some lather this way with the Semogue 1305 Boar Bristle Shaving Brush and the Dead Sea Shave - Tempest. Was acceptable, but also no success. Meanwhile moved to the Lüneburger Heide and I hope that shaving with the water here goes better. I have not experienced this before. If you also have a German flute-knife, and also flut water to shave with, then it is very three times flute-fits.
Blade and razor:
The Merkur Super Stainless Platinum Coated for the 3rd x used.
So, good about the Merkur Super Stainless Platinum Coated is already a clear point of view. Today I shaved pretty well with it, but still just below average. The Fatip Piccolo Special Edition (OC) with the Merkur Super Stainless Platinum Coated is not an optimal combination and since the skin is still sensitive from previous shaves, I shaved it carefully. If tomorrow the ATT S1 doesn't show any improvement, the blade will forever have fallen through the basket for me.
Result: DFS.
Finally: Eyüp Sabri Tuncer Tütün gave a firm shot and clearly showed that my skin is a bit upset. De Mennen Baume Energisant had to bring some relief, after which the Pinaud-Clubman Special Reserve was allowed to give a scent with some more care.
Breakfast and on the road.

Aftershave: Speick Men Aftershave Balm Sensitiv

I finished my Speick Men Aftershave Balm Sensitiv today, will i buy it again? Yes, this ia very nice balm what kalms your skin and a little goes a long way.

I'm just learning to shave with a straight razor. It is fun to learn a new skill.

The stuff used.

Prep preshave
Abzehk brush
Savonnerie de la drome verbena
Pradat brun frameback
Thayer's witch hazel
Mennen skin braver, balea ultrasensitive balsem

I bought the soap last year while visiting Die. It has a nice scent verveine with lemon. It is a soap that needs a lot of water.

The razor is used was a pradat brun. It is a frameback with a damast steel blade. I honed it with a coticule and a pierre de lune. It could be sharper, but it is now keen enough for me to shave.IMG_20190920_091213732_HDR.jpg

Pre-shave:
None
Shaving Soap / Cream: Martin de Candre Original

After Shave Balm: Castle Forbes Lavender
Eau de Toilette: LT Piver Lavande

Shaving Brush: Yagi 30 mm. Syntheet

After three shaving days off today, another clean shave.

And because of the extra medication the skin is completely upset so despite all the caution and the rest of three days not shaving the necessary irritation and blood points. :(

Friday morning:

Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Super Speed/Gillette day 7
Stirling Gin & Tonic on the Rocks SS
Stirling Glacial Unscented ASB
Osage Rub AS Splash

Our weather is starting to warm up again so I wanted to ramp up the menthol sensation and this setup was a perfect way to do it. The mentholated pre-shave soap from Stirling has a terrific cooling effect, it’s unscented, and it really softens up the stubble while leaving the skin spotlessly clean. The Gin & Tonic on the Rocks soap’s scent profile says juniper berries as well as lemon and lime - to be honest I have no idea what juniper berries smell like but the lemon and lime smell beautiful. The lather works up so rich and slick, the menthol feels medium strong on the first pass but when you re-lather it really punches you. The Glacial Unscented balm felt frigid as well as soothing with super moisturizing, and the Osage Rub delivered its own special bone chilling effect. BBS from three fun filled passes!

Have a great weekend!

Paladin Buck Rogers 26mm 2CSNL3 fan, Cobalt
Wholly Kaw - Cuero Oscuro
Mulcuto - Fliptop with plastic chrome topcap (s)
Wyzamet - Iridium Super (6, tossed)
Alum

After skipping yesterday, I shaved in the morning today, so could use a lasting strong smelling soap. As I have about one of those, that was not a difficult choice. Went to Cologne yesterday, after photographing the Müngstener Brücke in Solingen, to meet @Jake . Spent a nice two hours chatting about everything, amongst which Paladin brushes. So that choice was made as well.
The Mulcuto was waitig for its second use, still loaded with the Wyzamet. This, too, was easy.
Verdict: very nice shave, but could have been better. Evidently, six times for my beard is overdoing it with the Wyzamet, it was a bit tuggy, and left me with a bit of irritation.

  • Van der Lovett - AS Balm Sailors Blend
  • Irish Moos Aftershave
  • Irish Moos EdT
Clean and smooth, BBS without to much fuss. It still is not a very comfortable razor, its nearing the edge of what i can handle with my current technic. 3 Rounds, and some irritation still lingers, more practice will fix that for sure. I am still not decided what way to go, we will see..
The soap, in its container it has a nice scent that reminds me of a sauna, i love that smell daumenh! unfortunately the scent is not carried over in the lather, there it is more soapy without the wood notes, such a shame. The soap lathers very easy, but i have some trouble with soap/water ratios as the lather was filled with bigger bubbles (mostly a sign of to much water). The lather was thin, not creamy, but that was my fault, also the bowl was filling up with more lather than i have ever seen! Ridiculous amounts even, i could do 3 shaves of 3 rounds with that much.
Post shave was not bad, but also not great, AS Balm was needed. The protection was enough, believe me if it was not i would be showing a bloodbath, and that was not the case at all, some mild irritation as per usual with this dangerous beast.
The AS & EdT is an acquired taste for sure, and heck i have acquired it rasierensmilie
Pretty nice, so now we are waiting for the folks that come to take away our old kitchen, coming friday o_O yeah almost a week later, the new kitchen will be delivered, and the following Wednesday it will be installed, so 1 1/2 week of no kitchen, no cooking (other then a microwave) and lots of takeaway dinners :(
Next time i spend the extra money to let it be removed professionally, less time in between, less stomach ache over the state of the kitchen after things are removed..

Cheers, have a nice weekend!

Had to struggle to this one because the Voskhod blad was blunt already after one shave. The KEPINH soap is always a good performer.
