Pre-shave:
Prep creme
Shaving Soap: Prep Shaving Soap
After Shave : Speick
After Shave Balm: Speick

Shaving Brush: Edwin & Jagger XL syntheet
Safety Razor: Gamechanger 0,84
Razor Blade: Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus

Prep shaving soap quite simple, nothing special, no hypes around it, and almost never mentioned on shaving forums and / or praised. But guys, what do I love this shaving line with that great Camphor scent and the shaving soap that's just very good.

What a pity that also this shaving soap is no longer produced.:kommnurher1

By the way, it should also be said that we have a beautiful hotel room and the bathroom is a real gem with a fantastic mirror(s) and above all fantastic light which makes shaving a very pleasant experience.goodjob!

Razor: RR Game Changer 0.84
Soap: Proraso green
Brush: Proraso
Vergulde Hand Alum
Aftershave: Nivea 2 in 1
EDT: None

Very good scheve with the RR Game Changer 0.84 and you can’t go wrong with Proraso soap, even with the very hard water what i have on my vacation address. The Niveau is also very good with some cooling effect.

I feel sorry for the mirror.

A friend from the world of shaving visited us yesterday to have a nice chat. He had bought the soap, but because of the aniseed-like fennel in it, it wasn't his thing and I got it.

Good that he has still friends with good taste!

Today a very simpele shave:
Schick proLine shavette wit kai mild blade
Ylang ylang soap and balm
Simpson chubby 2 brush

Sometimes I don't understand the shaving world at all anymore.:(

I accidentally buy a shaving soap that with its aniseed smell would do well as a sandwich filling and then it turns out that my good friends Harkos and Snuffie like it...........life is full of riddles.:pirat1

  • Canadian Gillette Pocket Edition (1908-1917)
  • Lord Classic (1)
  • DScosmetic Synthetic Brush 26mm
  • TFS Anniversary Italian Fern
  • Van der Lovett AS Balm - Sailors Blend
  • Loris - So Oud
My first shave with this 'new' acquisition, hence the Lord Classic that i use as my benchmark blade. This razor is a bit aggressive, the spot on my right cheekbone where my hairs tend to be anarchistic in growing direction, soon showed red spots. To much pressure i bet. I must say i like this one, especially because of the clear audio feedback, a bit trying out needed to find the perfect angle, but a BBS result anyhow.
The age of this razor shows, the thread inside the handle is, ehh, less then tight, and the handle fixes itself to the head with just one and a half turn at the end. No way to fix this, and a handle with that smooth ball-end to replace this one, would be hard to find. I was damn lucky i found this razor at all for a bargain daumenh!
The new DScosmetic Brush, with a nice green handle and a decent size (a bit loud some Forum members thought :hammer1) has very soft brush-hair tips, it is very nice to use, foams up real easy and caresses the skin while lathering, what more can you ask of a brush?
The TSF soap was a bit of a disappointment, dry in the tin it smelled great although a bit musky, as a lather the smell was rather more soapy, where i would have preferred the Fougère smell to be the main stay. It does make a great foam, my skin feels ok after the shave (no Prep used) but i had no hesitation to use the AS Balm, as the smell was gone right after the shave, and the damage done needed some extra care. Lets say, Nice but not Great. The Loris - So Oud was a nice finish for today, it will stay with me until the evening, not many Aftershaves can do that!

Have a great day :)

Brush and soap:
Yaqi R1605-S Tuxedo and Einseifer Wiener Duft:
The subtle fresh scent of the Einseifer Wiener Duft evokes in me the smell of barbershop and at the same time Mediterranean floridity. I like that. Fresh not exaggerated, but persistent. Fine. Can the Tuxedo also make good foam with it and so it was a successful start again this morning.
Blade and razor:
The Gillette Rubie® Platinum Plus for the 5th x used.
The Rubie easily met my 5 standard. Shear like new in the pack. Of course the razor is also a very good one. The metal Mulcuto Schrägsnitt is a great combination with all my favourite blades, of which the Rubie is one.
Result: BBS.
Finally: The Citrus Musk fits nicely with the Wiener Duft. Then some Weleda, which also fits nicely in the scent line and finally Loris in the Cool Water variant. This Weleda is pretty good caring stuff, of a different order, than e.g. the Nivea ointments etc. That was a good start of the day.
