I had previously researched this white wash silver plate, thinking it was paint myself. I discovered there was a trend in the 50s regarding playing with the current and solution that resulted in the silv er turning chalky or white. It was trendy to highlight plated pieces in this way. I'll change my story to a 75 year old island immigrant found a razor, then a box, printed fake instructions and lied about purchasing it new...to make $5 at a flea market. Actually, only $2.50 since it came with a Simpson brush.
