Nobody lied to me, nobody painted this razor, it was not replated after it left the factory, and I've seen others posted exactly like it.
I'm finding many of these comments rather ridiculous and am moving on.
sorry if you felt offended ... but that's exactly what forums are for .. searching for the truth .. listening to everyone's opinion .. I think .. whatever it is ... if I'm wrong on the handle .. try to clean it with some pasta let's go if the white patina comes off...

No need to apologize for offending me. Being offensive is more the issue.
I'll change my story to a 75 year old island immigrant found a razor, then a box, printed fake instructions and lied about purchasing it new...to make $5 at a flea market. Actually, only $2.50 since it came with a Simpson brush.
Oh no, I better hit the Simpson threads to make sure that's real!
I'm off to listen to some psychedelic music now...on a record, on a record player run by electricity, with the light on (all American inventions @efsk :) . I enjoy doing this while drinking scotch and shooting deer out of my office window, while thinking about American exceptionism in my home large enough to fit several English cottages. What's on TV tonight?

AC was invented by Nicola Tesla, who was actually Kroatian. Peter Carl Goldmark, who invented the 12” long playing album, was born in Hungary.
Not only that, but we do have deer here :flucht1

Well I didn't know there was a lacquer for silver.. :)
I had previously researched this white wash silver plate, thinking it was paint myself. I discovered there was a trend in the 50s regarding playing with the current and solution that resulted in the silv er turning chalky or white. It was trendy to highlight plated pieces in this way. Typically it's brush plated, and you can polish it away, exposing only silver underneath.

We're all immigrants in America, unless we're Indian, but we've put those left all in one place with cigarettes, liquor and casinos.

that is, let me understand... should I give everything you say as true? or that a merchant in a flea market tells you for 5 dollars? maybe collecting rare razors made 70 years ago and subscribing to a collectors forum wasn't a good idea... we're not spectators here... people don't always agree with you.. or congratulate you on photos that show... I never said in writing that your instructions are false .. I wrote that I have a doubt .. then let's forget the story of the Americans .. I have too many American friends with whom I get along very well .. having said that I think I will write no more about your not at all rare razor bought for $5 and you will keep it on your beautiful shelf having taken for granted the words of a seller and not those of expert collectors.

Of all the places I've been, Greece, Amsterdam, and France were the cultures I most identified with. People say the French are rude...I think the reality is A holes are treated rudely anywhere in the world.

You Sir are quite a treat. Thank you for being you. Professional goalies are experts, yet get scored on and lose games frequently.
Clarify for me, are you an expert or perfect? I could still consider you an expert while you're wrong on this one. If you're sticking to your guns that's fine as well, but perhaps high horses are no good for you, and you'd like a donkey.
I never said it was rare, I mentioned two things: I was surprised nobody else posted it in this thread, and I enjoy it.

on the plating it seems to me that you too had the same doubt a few years ago on another forum.. but didn't you say that you had bought it for 5$? ... elsewhere you said differently.. that's why I don't believe what you write.. ridiculous and arrogant. :kaputtlachen1

Now we're name calling? Wait, we're not, you are, and that's wonderful.
I'm so happy that you've exposed me. Now allow me to apologize to all that my recollection was off by $5. I'd go with the price tag in the photo for the "truth". It wasn't 2 items for $5 that became $2.50 each. It was a $10 set so $5 each.
I started this conversation satin it was 5 bucks...but way to go! You've missed your calling super sleuth!
Did I tell you that I love you today? I really do. Anyone that can put such a smile on my face holds a special place in my heart. Laughter cures all!
@Walid , I'm taking over as North American diplomat!
