Now Then You Guys

Steve,

I'll be in your neck of the woods next week, Raynham doing some training for work. I like it a lot up there.

Maybe if you have time, or the inclination, we could meet up.

Cheers,

Paul

I have a tentative trip down to Baltimore planned for sometime next week, Paul, but that hasn't firmed up yet. Barring that, I'd be happy to buy you a beer when you're in town next week (I will not inflict Smuttynose Old Brown Dog Ale on you). Hope you're flying into Providence - it's much easier than Boston. Give me a holler sometime at ekozoe at yahoo dot com.

I was going to fly into Providence but it was going to cost me about $400 more than Logan on such late notice (booked the flight today for next Tuesday). I'm only going to be free next Wednesday and Thursday. Stone Forge is a nice little restaurant there (I'm a sucker for their Lobster Bisque).

I like all kinds of beer (except fruity)... I even like Sierra Nevada's Bigfoot Ale

If it works out, that'd be pretty cool.

I'll shoot you an email tomorrow.

Paul

Nonsense. Nothing wrong with flying into Boston. And the traffic there is great! :D

Paul: If you get a chance to be in "Boston" for a bit, go to Colonial Drugs in Harvard Square. I'm sure you'll love it. (But I recommend not having your wallet with you at the time.)

They are evil people... They take my order over the phone, and they let me mail them a check for goods.... They make it too easy for me. I haven't had much of an opportunity to spend time in Boston proper, but I really want to. I stayed at Hyatt Harborside last time with a great view of Boston. That and Capital Grille made for an excellent trip

How far are you from Providence. I go in there with USAirways all the time. Also every other decent size city east of St. Louis. How did you pick your avatar, Woody? Bart, in the late '70s through the '80s it WAS the loveboat.

I am ~40 mi from PVD and ~55 mi from BOS, Dennis. For me, PVD is a no-brainer. No traffic, easy, better flow. Don't get me wrong, BOS is fine as long as I don't have to drive there or back during rush hour. I sometimes go out of BDL (Haaaartfud) as well - all depending on best itinerary. For all my complaining, I imagine that your job, while interesting I'm sure, must be a real royal PITA in many ways.

My avatar...I don't know. Groucho was a pretty hilarious guy. And a smart-ass. Like me....

Yeah, Haaaarfud, too. I can't remember how many "a's". The job is still fine in a lot of ways. Most of us love the flying part, but the company has raped the pilot group over the last ten years or so. We are in a constant legal battle to make them honor the contract and the ceo is patently intransigent. I better not get started. It is not all major airlines, just US and American are very, very anti employee.

Obviously kidding about the avatar. Your picture looks exactly like Groucho at first blush. (Dig deeper and you'll feel nuts!) He was a genius in the league of W.C. Fields, Jonathan Winters,.....

I lived in San Diego in most of my previous life and got to your part of the country out there a bunch. Did you feel claustrophobic when you came back east. Not being able to see forty miles made me queasy for a while. (I moved to SC in '94 to take care of my father and now live in the same room I had when I was 8 years old.) Now when I go back I miss the green. I want it ALL.

Don't drink (anymore) but I would be proud to buy you a laabstaa sometime. I'll send you an e'mail with my cell number. Nice to meet you, Steve. Denny

Ooh ooh... I need to say, instead of starting a new thread, this will do...

A couple weeks ago, Steve and I met up in Raynham, Mass, for dinner. It was a great evening, and it felt like catching up with an old friend.

Thanks for a cool evening, Steve

Yeah Boy! It was pleasure meeting Paul - couple of beers (Sam Adams...), some dinner, and some good conversation. Oh, and we talked about all of y'all, too. Nothing too bad, except for, well...uh....

Guys,
This is me, as always holding my favorite beverage in my hands...

Don't worry, we'll straighten you out the first time we meet in real life... :D :D

You can't shave with something so artisan as a straight razor, live in Belgium, the homeland of artisan beers, and then prefer something so massproduced like that Anheuser-Busch-InBev stuff you're holding right there. Even if it isn't that bad. The Gillette fusion isn't that bad either. :D

Thank you for sharing the picture. It's always nice to put a name to the face.
