Prices of stones in the Vault

Sorry, I have number 36 reserved through another thread (Bart's superlatives hooked me  )

Hi Paul,
Oops... that makes the choice easier, isn't it?

I am used to grinding, polishing and testing telescope mirrors, so I look forward to exploring all nuances of the coticule. If #35 is still available, and if it performs according to the high expectations I have, I think it will find a happy owner here! I know, the person behind the tool must for sure learn to master the tricks of the tool(s) in order to appreciate them the more :)

Best regards,
Chris

Chris, welcome to Coticule.be.
I'm afraid you've missed both n°34 and n°35, unless one the the gentlemen that made a reservation doesn't confirm interest. (Send me an e-mail, I'll see what I can do for you).

I just updated the price list in the first post of this thread. The procedure is the same as last time. All gentlemen that made a reservation must confirm their intent to buy the hone (the member names are listed, please post your confirmation in this thread). Ardennes Coticule will contact you to arrange for payment and shipment, shortly after March 5th (when I return the current group of hones). The pricing info is mine, it's possible that Ardennes makes another judgment concerning standard and select grade, in which case the price could differ.

Kind regards,
Bart.

Thank you Bart. I'm confirming my intention to buy number 36. I suspect that this will be my last coticule purchase for a while :)

I wouldn't bet on that though

Sooo...if one coti is all you need to do a complete hone-job on a razor....why do so many of you guys have several cotis? hahahahah

I`m just jelaous.....

Some advice please, if possible, on the stones in the vault. Most seem to be taken now, although there are some photos which you can't click on for a description. Will these be available at some point? Or have I missed something?
Apologies if they are dumb questions.

Welcome to the forum, seems I'm the only who lurks around now, so let me do the ushering ;)

If you proceed to the 1[sup]st[/sup] page of this thread, there is a complete list of the stones that have been put into The Vault. You will see which have been reserved, and which haven't. If the photos aren't clickable it means that Bart hasn't published tests results for them yet, so you gotta stay tuned, as you can reserve Coticules only after the results have been posted.

Hope it helps.

kind regards,
Matt

If you go to the main page of the site, then "the coticule vault", then you go to number 13 of the stones and click on it, you will see the properties of the stone as tested by Bart. I think the reason it's not spoken for is that it is a slow cutter.

yes i've seen but i didn't know if it had good dimensions for a beginner
nice seeing you there to

I think it's an excellent size for a beginner. The 3cm side might be a little narrow at first, but that length is incredible. I'm confident that you would be able to use it. Look at #17, those dimensions would be something that would cause me to be hesitant. Number 13 should be nice!
