I would like to introduce the latest member of my family to Coticule.be. He was born on the 22nd of this month, and a mere two days before my 40th birthday. The interesting back story to his birth is that I had spent the earlier part of the evening honing a razor on my Les Latueues hone. Just as I started my shave for the evening, literally starting my first pass, my wife came into the bathroom and said “Stop shaving…we need to go.” Two hours later he was born. The razor has become the most precious razor that I now own, which will be given to him at a much later date. His name is Bartholomew Ralph ….BWHAHAHAHA...Dominick Leo

I would like to thank you guys for the kind words, I do really appreciate it. And Dr. Sweetie Uncle Ralfy is my son’s official English godfather; it’s done deal. I’m a member of many different forums from bread baking to straight razors. Coticule.be is the only one I would make this type of post. I stumbled in here by happened stance, and gained some fine friends as a result.

alright. Ever since I saw all the photos from the Cotiticule Pilgrimage I've thought I should return the favour...
After searching through the hundreds of photos on iPhoto (mostly selfies of my two teenage daughters ), I realized there were only about 3 photos of me.... 2 of them certainly less than flattering....
This is me, almost exactly a year ago, just before I'd quite shaving altogether...

my avatar is a picture of myself and family. it was before I started shaving, but it is a true photo, not setup at all. the photo was taken by a friend when we were just standing there and it was done with a mobile phone.
I find myself engulfed in the world of straight razors recently, but I will mention that I was a fitness equipment salesman and repairman for many years. then worked as a caregiver until I couldn't handle the losses. worked as a cabinet maker for many years and was laid off with many others. I worked as a bodger and wood artist for a couple years and now am in school. I have a 4yo daughter and her mother and I have been together for almost eleven years now.
My hobbies are turning wood, carving wood and primitive weapons.
